Haul: Sephora VIB Sale

Sephora discounts always attract me. Having said that, I must admit my makeup-ban determination has really toughened me up. I used April Sephora VIB sale to procure only basics for daily uses and for my upcoming trip. No eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks since last December!!

Korres wild-rose 24 hour moisturizer. It feels light and comfortable on my skin. I love to use it for both day and night treatment to brighten up my skin in place of my running-out Korres wild rose + Vitamin C moisturizer. The later acts  more like a mask for night time and feels a bit heavy for day time. After few uses, I think I made the right decision.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. It's light weight, opaque, and dry in a satin finish that looks natural and blends seamlessly into my skin. While I love YSL Touche Eclat, Nars Custard does the job better. I now use YSL Touche Eclat for like a highlighter, the use recommended by the brand.

Nars Pro-prime Eye primer. I've used up my sample of the Sephora's 500-points gift from last year. I love it so much that the full-size version dropped unavoidably into my shopping cart. It keeps my eyeshadows in place longer than Urban Decay Primer Potion and Laura Mercier Eye Basics.

Josie Maran Argan Facial Oil. I won't be able to stuff 6.7-oz spraying toner in my carryalls and I've wanted to try Argan Oil for ages. So there I have it :D. It feels a bit heavy on my skin in Houston weather. Maybe, it suits the cold weather up north better. We'll see.

That's it.

Did you catch Sephora sale? Or did you choose other retailer's gift with purchase? What have you rewarded yourself? Any thoughts on the items mentioned here. I'd love to hear about it all. xx

  2. Proud of you too! Proud of us, woo hooo!!! I allow myself one seasonal collection this year and there're so many great summer collections. I think I'll choose Tom Ford and one bronzer among Dior's, Guerlain's and Giorgio Armani's. Feeling tense already hahaha

  3. Holy ban, batman! LOL :-) That's pretty amazing...how long are you trying to go? I didn't get much...basics and a fun polish color but I returned that today bc I didn't like the formula. Oh, and a few new colors in the LM Caviar shadow sticks but I'm thinking at least 1 of the colors might get returned. We'll see. Didn't go as bonkers as I normally do. Been feeling kind of 'meh' lately with getting new makeup with a few exceptions being some items from the Summer collections but I want to check those out in person. Hope you enjoy all your goodies!!!

    1. Thank you so much!!! AAAHHH I almost got LM caviar shadow sticks too, but decided to skip after spotting more sparklicity than I wanted. I was a bit tired after all my TF purchases last year and after Chanel Notorious fails me. It's just the point where new makeup doesn't excited me as much. "Meh" is a good word to describe it. hehehe. I'm lifting the makeup ban tomorrow if TF summer collection is indeed gorgeous. Then I probably search for a good bronzer among the galore of new stunning limited editions on the market now.

I need to hit pan on Burberry Pale Barley before I can get a new eyeshadow or eyeshadow palette. Who knows how long it takes? Bogetta Veneta perfume will be mine when I finish Tocca Guilietta. I imagine both will happen at the end of the summer. Let's pray. hehehe

  4. I used the VIB code too, though I was totally aware that I was falling for another of Sephora's amazing marketing strategies rather than getting a good deal (because 15% really barely put a dent in my total). No blushes, eyeshadows since last dec is awesome! I'm trying to cut back on buying too, so that makes me feel encouraged :)

    1. Well, it's better small than nothing right? LOL!! I feel the same. At least Sephora counts the $50 shipping BEFORE the discount unlike so many other retailers. I usually stock up on skin care and basics during Sephora events now that the large part of my wish list isn't carried there. Go Cantherine!! We can all control our shopping addicts!

    1. Woot woot!! High-fives!! It's a bit runny on my skin so I run a cotton swab lightly through my under eyes to remove excess product then set with powder. So far it WORKS well for me too. Yay!!!!

    1. Nars keeps getting better!!!! I'm skeptical about Josie Maran argan oil though. I'm gonna test it in cold weather. Fingers crossed!!

  7. Wow you are doing really well on this ban, Joanne! (that rhymes. hehe :P) If you can believe it, I actually only bought 2 things during the sale: the Nars eye primer as well and a Burberry Brit Sheer set. Of course, this is because I had already done WAAAAY too much shopping before-hand so couldn't really shop the Sephora sale for fun items even if I wanted to otherwise I'd be dead broke. LOL! :P

    1. LOL!!! I love the rhymes!!! I've been seeing your new lovelies and drooling over Dior's blush bronzer duo. So tempted to get it!!! Summer collections tend to open my wallets more than any other seasons too. hahaha
